INTERCEPTION APPLIANCE FOR CLASS II.

CHILDREN (6 years and over) and ADULTS.

In children: the C.F.P. mouthguard plays a preorthodontic role in mixed dentition, acting on associated functional and occlusal problems.

In adults: assistance with relieving temporo-mandibular joints.

The Class II mouthguard is available in three hardnesses for the 3 first sizes:

  • Soft (green)
  • Medium (bluish)
  • Rigid (yellow)

and 2 hardnesses for the X-large size:

  • Soft (green)
  • Medium (bluish)
  • The "lip bumper" extensions neutralise the muscle contractions from the lip-chin region and encourage transversal jaw growth.
  • The mandibular arcade is surrounded all round the perimeter by the maxillary arcade to encourage contact between the lateral sectors.
  • The vestibular shield changes breathing through the mouth into breathing through the nose.
  • The propulsion plane releases mandibular growth, facilitating the establishment of secondary swallowing.
  • The mandible is positioned in an end-to-end relationship for a Class II dental correction.
  • The tongue is placed in an upper position thanks to the lower blocks on both sides (exclusive to INNOVA PHARM).
  • It encourages the teeth to erupt in the correct way within a preorthodontic context.
  • The Class II mouthguard is placed in the mouth, with the 2 lateral blocks at the bottom under the tongue.
  • The tongue is then placed in its natural position at the top front.
  • When the Class II mouthguard is in the mouth, patients can breathe through their nose.
  • The Class II mouthguard must be worn for 2 hours a day and all night.
  • When worn during the day, clench your teeth then release them in sequences of 10 to 15 times, roughly every 2 minutes.
  • The Class II mouthguard should be cleaned in cold water with a toothbrush and toothpaste before and after use. The recommendation is to place it for 1 hour a week in mouthwash.
  • Never boil the mouthguard.
  • It's normal for the child's mouthguard to fall out frequently at night in the first instance. YOU MUST PERSEVERE as functional reeducation is a long process.
